Day 2 Tuesday 14th June. Today after a cool start to the morning we set off about 9am, heading for Coober Pedy. An uneventful drive saw us arrive there for lunch. We refilled the vehicle and one of the extra tanks we'd had to empty to get us through. It appears that there has certainly been quite a bit of rain up this way as there is plenty of new green growth around. We are just amazed at the number of caravanners on the road compared with 16 years ago. Everywhere there are grey nomads heading north. The Stuart Highway is so much busier too. We stopped at another free camp (Anita Camp) about 100kms north of Coober Pedy for the night. So far we are the only ones here and it's lovely. About 500mt off the highway and lots of firewood around for another fire.
