Day 6 Saturday 18th June Red, Green, Wet Centre. Today we left our lovely camping spot and headed back to Erldunda. Another busy fuel stop and a quick chat to family members as we had phone reception here. We also attempted to &book in& to a caravan park in Alice Springs as we needed to be on water and restock our groceries but most were busy or full! We drove on to Alice Springs and still were amazed at the lush green growth and recent rains in the area. We had watched thunderstorms the previous night about 100 kms away from us and felt lucky that we had managed to avoid them. Alice Springs was busy and wet. The Todd River was full of water and everything was green. There had been a huge thunderstorm with hail etc the day and night before. We managed to get into a caravan park &overflow & area and this was fine. We went into town to buy a few things from Coles and what a mess. The shop had been &flooded& out the previous evening and the store had managed to reopen but only a few checkouts could operate. We stood in line for about 30 minutes to purchase our groceries but it wasn't too bad all things considered. We thought we'd be warm by now but it's only 16 today and tomorrow will be 15......It's going to be 16 in Adelaide!
